Administration: Business
A Bachelor's in Business/Administration will help to develop you into a leader in the business world. You will learn to direct others under you and work with peers to set goals and devise the means to most effectively and efficiently accomplish those goals. This major involves coursework covering a wide range of business disciplines, including accounting, finance, business law, management, and public relations. You will learn core business principles both through reading and through projects and actual problem-solving. At the heart of this major is an understanding of the elements around which businesses function and piecing those elements together in a successful direction. These elements involve both the numerical side of business and the interpersonal side. There are a number of emphases that you can choose from, including entrepreneurship, communications, accounting, marketing, and others.

Upon completion of the coursework you will be better able to analyze a business, determine what improvements to make, and work with others to develop and implement a plan of action. Your problem-solving and interpersonal skills will likely also show marked improvement.

Business administration is the first step in the direction of taking on management responsibilities in the business arena. Jobs/careers that become available to you include: Management positions in numerous companies, Advertising/marketing, Sales, Financial Administration, Human Resources, and Public Relations.

A number of opportunities to further your education are also available. You could pursue a master's in a number of business disciplines, go to law school, or get a Ph.D. and teach at the collegiate level or conduct research.
